The problem is with high paying salaries its constant if you want to earn more you need to improvise.

What a lot of people do is that they put money into wall street so brokers can put their money into company shares or gold etc. While the market can go up it also can go down so if you really want to earn money with your normal salary just put some risks if you can afford to lose money to make money.

You can also invest in a start up company it may grow into something or it could fail check if the company owner is a trustworthy person and check if he is a person that never gives up don't matter the circumstances . He will need a person like that since beginning a company is very difficult thats why you need a person like that.
